CUTE V 1.0 is the first prototype of the project CUTE. It was completed during my artist residence Subnetair in June 2023. It is a great honor to work with HCI at the University of Salzburg.
The instrument uses a color sensor to detect the frequency of the CUT disk and convert it to midi and CV signals. This allows the artist to control external equipment. At the same time, artists based on this principle can perform musical composition through painting. The instrument has two modes of manual and automatic rotation. Manual mode is done through the iconic cut of CUT, and automatic mode is changing the motor speed and steering.
This is the beginning of my CUTE project. I hope that in the future there will be more showcase and business opportunities that will allow my project to continue and achieve my goals.
